School students build classroom bioreactors to test algae fuels

Students from Cape Cornwall School in UK will build bioreactors in class for testing the viability of marine algae-based biofuels. The students will carry out the research with the help of grants from the Royal Society. The team is aiming at the best possible ways to grow large quantities of algae for the production of biofuels.

Scientists from the Marine Biology Society in Plymouth will also be associated with the students in this project. 25 schools from the country are selected for the grants and each school will receive about £ 3000. - read more
