As Chairman and CEO of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, Carlos Ghosn is at the helm of not one, but two of the world's biggest car makers: Renault S.A. and Nissan Motor Company. As an outsider running one of Japans largest companies, Ghosn famously resurrected Nissan Motor Co. from near bankruptcy a year earlier than scheduled in 2001. Now he has thrown his corporate reputation into the post-gasoline car. In 2010 the Renault-Nissan Alliance, formed in 1999, launches the first of seven electric vehicles including the all-electric Nissan LEAF. In response to President Barack Obama's goal of 1 million electric cars on American roads by 2015, Ghosn has stated, "We hope to have much more than 1 million cars on the road before then. In addition, Nissan has partnerships with more than 40 cities, municipalities and power companies to promote electric-vehicle infrastructure and testing. Here is your chance to meet Ghosn in an intimate setting and hear his plans and perspectives about personal transportation, the quest for zero emissions, and more.
