Protests against Tar Sand Oil in U.S. - 31 Aug 2011

Hundreds protest outside the White House in an attempt to stop U.S. President Barack Obama from approving the Keystone XL pipeline, which would be running right through the middle of U.S. extending from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico.

The pipeline in Alberta, Canada has already contaminated water bodies and people downstream these water sources have developed health related problems. For this reason, many scientists, environmentalists and citizens are protesting against signing of the pipeline construction deal. In fact the EPA has given the Keystone pipeline a failing grade and has called for a final review before the actual decision to support the dirty oil is taken.
