HOW LIPID PRODUCTION CAN INCREASE

Are there certain environmental factors, such as starvation or light deprivation, which would cause an algal cell to produce more lipid bodies than usual?

    Phosphate limitation caused significant changes in the fatty acid and lipid composition of Monodus subterraneus. So I believe, feeding must have strong effect on lipid composition for the all algae types.
