Rajesh1986 wants to know Is there any alternative for using of CFC in Air conditioners and fridges? 1 year ago
Chlorofluorocarbon(CFC) is the main pollutant of atmosphere. It is mainly responsible for increasing green house gases concentration in atmosphere. our refrigerators and air conditioners, release this gas in large quantity. so day by day our atmosphere is getting polluted. This results in increase in temperature of earth.
Avoiding this CFC,can save our earth. Is any research going on this? Is there any other alternative for this?-
They don't use CFC anymore as a refrigerant. and technically it's not a greenhouse gas, because it doesn't trap heat, it is destructive to the ozone layer, because of the chlorine content which in not chemically inert, and reacts with the ozone layer. Here is what is used now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane

AHMEDABAD: Narendra Modi would not have thought of Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT) as the test-bed for future city technologies, but his dream project in Gandhinagar may well have this interesting spillover. Work on the proposed Rs 78,000-crore nano city has now started, and the first occupant may move in by March. By the time the first phase is completed in three-and-a-half years, this special economic zone (SEZ) would have tried out, on a small scale, some contemporary urban design ideas. GIFT would have a command and control centre to monitor the IT infrastructure and respond quickly during emergencies…in Green Buildings Anaerobic Digestion of Waste Water Conservation and Reuse Clean Development Mechanism

Very useful report...a must read for all of us interested in renewables...I had read this a week ago, but it is nice to go through it once more... $211 billion investments in renewables overall, and about 1.3 TW (terawatt) of renewables capacity (including large hydro). If one does not include large hydro power, about 300 GW of renewable power ,up from 250 GW the previous year...YoY growth 20% - excellent... These types of reports are highly motivating to those of us who work in renewables...it kind of shows us that while there are teething troubles with renewables right now, it is almost certainly the wave of the future... Thanks Kyzyl for providing this report

uShip Now Offering 100% Climate-Neutral Transport Across Germany, Mainland Europe
Global transport exchange joins with MyClimate to offset all greenhouse emissions from their delivery jobs.
Transport is a dirty business. In Germany, delivery vans and trucks are responsible for 45.5 tonnes for Carbon and other Green House gas emissions, estimated to soon make up 43% of Germany's total GHG output.
To address this issue directly, transport exchange uShip has now turned delivery jobs on its site 100% climate-neutral. This means for every tonne of CO2 produced from car, furniture, motorcycle, boat and freight deliveries across mainland Europe, including Germany, France and The Netherlands, uShip will donate 20 euros to MyClimate, the Swiss Climate Foundation that funds climate-neutral projects like wind farms and solar collectors around the world.
