Some ways to use biomass - 1. Through direct firing and co-firing
2. Pyrolysis (biomass produces a mix of solids (char), liquids (oils and methanol), and gases (methane, CO & CO2)
3. Gasification - Gas from biomass; first volatile materials have to be removed via pyrolysis. The char left behind is gasified to create carbon and steam or O2 - -
