Gaya3 wants to know EPA says palm oil does not meed energy standards. 1 week ago
"As the price of petroleum oil soars, palm oil is increasingly attractive, but the U.S. EPA has ruled that palm oil isn’t good enough to meet federal renewable fuel standards.
The proposed ruling has been called the most important climate change decision of the year. "

While on the face of it, electric cars look like a great green option, if one considers the entire lifecyle of the electric car - starting from the way batteries are manufactured - the whole thing might not look so green after all, or at least not as green as it looked earlier. Any idea on how the lifecycle sustainability accounting / green accounting for electric cars compare to that for traditional cars?

ran across this article, I am creating my own hybrid, I am in the process of transplanting the "guts" of a wrecked 2006 Toyota Prius in to a 1992 Lexus es 300 Donner car (engine and drive train removed of course) I would like to add three more batteries in parallel to the existing battery to extend the mileage before the gas engine kicks in and starts the charging process, I have currently invest about $3,000 total for both cars and don't expect to pay spend much more other than my time. Baoguangzhai wants to know Algae Fuel Market Survey 2 months ago
Dear Algae group members,
We probably all know that fuel that contains algae will cost more than gasoline at this stage, so how do customers look at algae is worth thinking about. Let’s assume that we have algae-mixed diesel.I am trying to do a market survey for fuels with algae. Would you mind taking a second to fill the survey? http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LJD7LT8
It’s just 6 questions and really quick.
Thank you very much for your help! and what do you guys think about the marketing strategy of algae fuel??? -

Answer this question / Share a linkUltrasound on microalgae, or any cell culture works by electroporation or electropermeabilization of cell wall by means of an electrical field applied, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electroporation. Lipid secretion it´s caused by other electrochemical phenom called electrophoresis that causes the motion of dispersed particles relative to a fluid under the influence of a spatially uniform electric field, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrophoresis. The secret is to determine optimal exposure time and optimal electrical field intensivity.
